2008 Event Recap

WEDNESDAY MAY 7, 2008

Official Pro-Am Tournament

The Official Pro-Am gives amateurs the opportunity to play with LPGA Tour players at the top of the ADT Official Money List; the top 50 players from the 2008 Michelob ULTRA Open professional field and 8 tournament sponsor selections were paired with the amateur teams. A field of 232 amateurs had the opportunity to play the River Course under professional tournament conditions.  Participants enjoy the opportunity to play in a scramble format because it allows for maximum interaction with their professional.

With a team round of 52, Jane Park worked together with her team to secure the top spot and trophy in the Official Michelob ULTRA Open Pro-Am Tournament.  Park was paired with Phil Kazer, Kevin Meegan, Jimmy Stegall, and Paul Stoddart.  Teams captained by Hee Young Park and Morgan Pressel finished in second and third place respectively.

Playing in the Official Pro-Am is a three-day event filled with parties and a practice round.  The Monday evening draw party is when the players find out both their tee time and the LPGA professional their team is paired with for the tournament.  On Tuesday, a warm-up event is held to give all the amateurs the opportunity to play together as a team, before being joined by the pros.  Wednesday brings the excitement of teeing it up with an LPGA pro and later attending the awards reception hoping that your team has secured the winning trophy.
