Webb Making A Dash For The ULTRA
Karrie Webb is aiming to be the first golfer of 2006 to lead an event from
start to finish after shooting a 5-under, 66 during Round Three of the
2006 Michelob ULTRA Open. Webb is at -13 after 54 holes. Webb leads Lorena
Ochoa, Pat Hurst and Cristie Kerr, who are in a three-way tie for second
place at -8. Ochoa shot a 6-under, 65, and Hurst a 69 to stay close to
Webb. Kerr birdied 18 for a 1-under, 70 to join the three-way tie for second.
Planning For Weather
Due to impending bad weather on Sunday, the Final Round of the Michelob
ULTRA Open will tee off from two tees beginning at 8 a.m. with the final
group teeing off at 10:01 a.m. Play is expected to end around 3:30 p.m.
Due to the early tee times, the Michelob ULTRA Open webcast has been
moved to 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ESPN2’s coverage will remain
at 4-6 p.m. tape delayed.
Ochoa Making A Run
After a +2, 73 in Round One, Lorena Ochoa has rebounded to record a Michelob
ULTRA Open record for the lowest middle 36 holes. Ochoa scored a 67-65,
-10 on Friday and Saturday to surpass the previous record of 7-under
set by Cristie Kerr in 2005. Ochoa’s 65 on Saturday set the mark for
the lowest Round Three score. The previous record was 67 shot by Natalie
Gulbis (’05) and Wendy Ward (’03). Her 65 also tied the second
best round in tournament history behind Kim Williams’ second round
63 (-8) in 2003.

Webb’s 54-hole total of 200 (-13) is the lowest 54-hole total in
tournament history. The lowest 72-hole total is -9 by champions Grace Park
(’04) and Se Ri Pak (’05).
